Annual A/C Maintenance is always a MUST

Posted on | by Schultheis Blog | Leave a Comment on Annual A/C Maintenance is always a MUST

Annual A/C Maintenance is a must, no matter how well your equipment is working

Annual A/C maintenance not only prevents unexpected breakdowns, but it also ensures the safety of your home. Even if your equipment is keeping your home perfectly cool and comfortable, it is essential to have your unit inspected each year to make sure there are no unexpected surprises.

You might not be the only one enjoying your A/C unit….

One of customer’s perfectly working a/c units was turned into a luxury home for a few of the neighborhood birds, which never would have been caught if not for their annual a/c maintenance.

Luckily, the nest was removed before any major issues could occur (no birds were harmed during this process).

Properly removing pieces of your ac and checking over the systems functionality should only be done by a certified professional, for your safety and the safety of your home.

Options for annual a/c maintenance

Customers are able to purchase an a/c tune up yearly or Schultheis Bros has the option of two type of annual maintenance contracts. Our Red & Gold plans include the annual maintenance of both your furnace and a/c.

Our customer service representative will call you every six months as a reminder to schedule your tune up to eliminate the hassle of remembering.

Both plans include the following benefits:

  • NO overtime rates
  • Emergency HVAC service available 24/7
  • Priority Scheduling
  • Discounts on parts and new equipment
  • Thorough cleaning/inspection of equipment
  • Multi-year discounts available

And much more, contact one of our customer service representatives today to learn more and sign up for your first A/C tune up!

Urine for a hot summer if your dog has this bad habit…

Posted on | by Schultheis Blog

Have you noticed a decline in the performance of your air conditioning system? Surprisingly if you have a dog they can have a big impact on your equipment during those hot summer months.

If your dog loves to leave their mark on your air conditioner, you may be in for a rude awakening this summer.

Dog urine can be very damaging to your air conditioning unit by eating away at the coil of the unit.

Damage to your unit’s coil can lower the seer rating, resulting in a less efficient system and a less comfortable home with higher energy bills.

Even if your air conditioner is a newer model, the urine can still cause extensive damage that ‘s hidden by the heavy-duty protective grates on the outside of the unit.

There are four ways you can deal with the issue:

1. Leave system as is, but the damage is done and your efficiency with decline with each use

2. Replace the system’s condensing coil, but this could be as costly as a new system

3. Replace the unit and move it to a new location that the dog cannot access

4. Relocate the current unit where dog does not have access

Our sales team can help you find an appropriate solution to protect your investment and make sure you have home comfort all summer long

Are there any benefits to a Roof Inspection? YES!

Posted on | by Schultheis Blog

Having a roof inspection performed is one of the best ways to help improve your roof’s lifespan. Schultheis Bros recommends having an inspection performed each year due to the extreme weather your roof is exposed to in the Pittsburgh area, especially after the winter months.

Springtime is the best time to schedule your annual inspection, which is right around the corner (we think…).

Rather than climbing the ladder yourself, our roofing experts at Schultheis Bros are well trained and ready to perform your annual inspection. It is important that the person you hire to look at your roof has the proper knowledge, insurance, and licenses to protect your home.

Our roofing experts will provide a written report with each inspection that examines all aspects of your roof.

What do our experts look for during a roof inspection?

Because your roof is one of the biggest investments for your home, it is important to have the roof and all components inspected to prevent any issues and costly repairs.

We provide the general condition of the roof, gutters, downspouts, flashing, decking, valleys, and skylights (if applicable), as well as any repairs that need to be done for routine maintenance.

Correcting any issues with your roof before they become a much larger issue will help save you money and provide peace of mind that your home is protected.
